Our History - Why I do What I do

Getting to Know Your Financial Planner\Accountant

It helps to know a little bit about the person to whom you have entrusted your financial life. It’s important to know that person shares common goals and values and understands and respects how hard people work for the money they earn.

I was born in Laurel Gardens, a middle-class neighborhood in the North Hills of Pittsburgh. My father and grandfather were Ironworkers, and my father died on the job when I was three years old. Thankfully, my father had enough Life Insurance to pay off our house and other expenses which enabled my mother to stay home and raise my sister and me.

I was raised to save money and be thrifty. My mother and sister have said that I probably still have my first communion money. I was always an independent child who was eager to learn and always had an interest in money and financial security. I worked two jobs in high school and paid for my own college education at Penn State University.

At a young age I would talk about running my own business, probably in the financial area. My childhood experiences taught me the value of saving money, the security it can bring and protecting the people you love. I guess I have been training my whole life to be a tax and financial planner.
